Ghetto 2D machining

Yes I would like to have a Mill and a Lathe. But mills that work well tend to weigh 3 tons and would not even fit into the microshed I do head work in.  If you speed things up and grind you can work freehand without the need for Ueber stiff frames. That said I would like a Bridgeport style set-up for cutting seats  but that will be a bit over the top for the work I do.  A lathe is something that is much more useful and as I only need small stuff done a smallish one that will fit in my tiny workspace will do fine.

Do mind the max rpm rating of the stone you put in there.. this one goes up to 44.000 the router goes to 28.000. the larger diameters mostly are rated at 25.000 rpm !

Flat in one go. It takes about 2 minutes per chamber using this setup and you are guaranteed that all of the chambers are the same depth which greatly simplifies set-up afterwards.

it aalways look worse when you make a pic of it

It always looks worse when you make a photograph of it, but you can not feel the ridge that used to be around the valves even though the discolouration is still there. The ridge around the intake is a 30 degree topcut. I will try a straight 45 without a topcut  first (the seat is still undersized and the 30 degree topcut will be cut out)
